Holiday Closings
The Roanoke Public Library will be closed on the following holidays: 
  • New Year's Day
  • Presidents' Day
  • Good Friday
  • Independence Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day

Membership
Roanoke Library membership is available at no charge to:
  • Members of libraries that are part of the North Texas Library Consortium
  • Property owners who pay taxes to the City of Roanoke
  • Texshare card members
  • Residents within Roanoke city limits
We offer a low annual fee of $10 for those who are not eligible for a free card.

Loan Periods
Most library materials (books, audio cassettes, and CDs) may be borrowed for 14 days (2 weeks). Loan periods for items borrowed via Interlibrary Loan or from consortium libraries are set by the lending library.

Reserves
Items may be reserved through the online catalog. If you need assistance, a library staff member will he happy to help. A library staff member will call you when the item you reserved is ready to be picked up.

Interlibrary Loan Service
If you want an item that we do not have and that is not available from any of the North Texas Library Consortium libraries, you may use our free Interlibrary Loan service to try to obtain a copy from other libraries around the country. Simply request a form at the Circulation Desk. A member of the library staff will call you when your materials arrive at the library.

Renewals
You can renew library materials by any of the following methods:
  • By phone at 817-491-2691
  • Via the online catalog (check with a staff member for assistance with your login ID and password)
  • In person
Items may not be renewed if they are on reserve for someone else. Interlibrary Loan and consortium item renewal terms are set by the lending libraries.

Returns
Books and other materials may be returned to the Circulation Desk, placed in the book drop on the outside front wall of the library, or returned at the drive-through bookdrop located on the north side of the library. Items returned after library hours or on holidays will be checked in when the library opens next, and will not be charged overdue fees.

Fines
  • All other library materials - $0.25 per day
  • Movies and Video Games - $0.50 per day
There is a maximum fine of $10 per loan period.
